Earl R. Hoffmann, company founder

Earl R. Hoffmann, Sr. grew up with a love for aviation. He began his flying career, as a pilot in Naval Aviation and still loves to fly today. Back in 1954, in an effort to combine his love of flying with business, Mr. Hoffmann founded Surdex Corporation, which stands for SURvey, Design, EXploration. Since its incorporation over 60 years ago, Surdex has grown from a start up aerial photography firm to one of the most technologically advanced digital mapping firms in the photogrammetric industry.

With a fleet of aircraft and multiple acquisition options, Surdex now provides complete geospatial solutions for public sector (federal, state, county, municipal) and private sector clients (oil and gas, transportation, utilities, engineers, developers, etc.) throughout North America.

With the most advanced technology incorporated into our production processes, we can work quicker without deviating from our clients’ accuracy and quality requirements and without risk of jeopardizing project schedules.

Today, Surdex has over 90 employees and a fleet of ten aircraft.
